Micro-niche are topics focused on specific topics.  Compared to general or multiple niche, micro niche are now being used by webmasters to gain more money over the internet today.  Yes, this what webmasters are consuming their time nowadays.

The good point when it comes to promoting a micro niche is that you are targeting real visitors compared to general topics where you might even forget you have that particular page in your website which is only collecting dust.  While micro niche receives only few visitors, you can generate more money form them because these visitors are all potential buyer where in return could make real money too.

Another good point to consider is the promotion.  Promoting a micro niche is not that hard compared to that website having multiple niches.  Since you are only promoting a single topic, you will only be having a 2 or 3 or let say 5 keywords to target.  Five keywords or key phrases I think, is too many but if you can handle the promotion, the more keyword you will target the better.

Another good point with micro niche is that there are only few competitors to compete with.  This means you will be having potential to generate income online.  And when it comes to adsense, advertisers are paying more about their products.  Of course, the adsense PPC amount will vary depending on the niche you will be creating.
